NMGI is a leading managed services provider
and technology consulting company. TSIF is a boutique, high-end

warranty of any type for any who visit.
Introduction:
The technology recommendations made at this site are independently
prepared by Randy Johnston, EVP NMGI
and K2 Enterprises, and
Dr. Bob Spencer, President TSIF. The information provided here is
primarily intended for seminar and conference attendees, as well as
clients and readers of our articles and publications. We both have
nearly 40 years experience EACH. Both of us has independently
owned computer hardware retail stores, and Randy is currently in the
business as a co-owner of Network Management Group, Inc., out of
Hutchinson, Kansas. Bob was president of a computer retail business
owned by he and his shareholders of a regional accounting firm in
Florida for a number of years. We have had the good fortune to have
consulted with an incredibility wide range of businesses from
Governmental, Finance, Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail and
Professional Services. We are both very entrepreneurial by nature and
have owned a number of businesses over the years. We have authored
and co-authored a number of books on business and technology from Risk
Management, Accounting Software Selection and Implementation, Paperless,
and Technology Best Practices. You can find out more about Randy from
his blog, www.randyjohnston.com,
and about Bob, www.bobspencer.com.
About this site:
We both try to be as vendor agnostic as possible in order to be
independent, both in our consulting practices as well as our seminar
presentations. However, like most people, we have our favorites, and
like most people, this is often based on what we have actually used and
have experience with. We have used Hewlett-Packard desktops, laptops,
and printers for nearly two decades now and while, like everyone, we
have purchased a model we were less than happy with, over all, we have
been very pleased. We also have direct experience with Toshiba and
Fujitsu Desktops as well as IBM (now Lenovo.) Perhaps less direct
experience with Sony and Dell, but mostly because of their retail
channel and Dell selling direct to end-users for so many years.
Today we realize that innovation is short lived, when one vendor comes
out with a great idea, others will follow quickly with similar or
improved versions. We have dropped any Operating System prejudice we may
have had many years ago and both are active with Windows, Linux and OS
X. We go back to pre-DOS, something called CPM! Actually we go
back to before they punched holes in cards and connected wires on a
plug-board, but that is just embarrassing.
This site is intended to give guidance on selecting computer hardware.
We have other sites to help with software selection to include;
www.AccountingSoftwareWorld.com,
www.TotallyPaperless.com,
and www.CPAFirmTech.com. But
rather than try and dictate what you should buy, we will try to describe
what you should look for as you make your decision. We will also try and
develop this site as we have questions and learn from you what your
needs are.
So there you are. Navigate around the site, let us know if you have any
problems, and if we can be of help, or you need help implementing your
technology please contact us from the links above.
